White Supremacy is a Suicide Mission, and a Death Sentence for Everyone Else

White “culture”, if there is such a thing, is one founded upon multigenerational genocidal mania.
Presidential candidate Joe Biden likes to say that the soul of The United States is at stake, as if it is single handedly being held hostage by the current Administration. Shocker: (and the Wal-Mart quality fascism aside), that bet was made long before any of us got here. Even Uncle Joe. The condition we find ourselves in today begs the question: why save a soul as feckless and twisted as the American one? The same soul that allowed slavery to persist for four centuries. And that also allowed the social genocide to continue for a century afterwards.
From our healthcare system, to policing, mass incarceration, fast food, fashion, homelessness, the twenty four hour news cycle and climate change. To the anti-maskers, the anti-vaxers and everything in between. And not to mention the unseen mental health cost to anyone that should come into contact with such fatal ignorance, I see no good reason to fight for something we likely have already lost, if it ever existed in the first place.
The rifleman’s barrel that is the American Dream is now firmly pointed at all of us. It is no longer just faceless, nameless brown people in other places, not just immigrants, the indigenous, the poor or Black Americans that face the wrath of the toxic, putrid self-loathing that has subsumed white America, and so dutifully terrorized the rest of us. Now, the terror has come for all. And if you feel like you’re in the protected class: you are the biggest fool of all.
The easy argument is to wag the finger at “capital C” Capitalism. And that, no doubt, is the marquee academic reasoning for this catastrophe of humanity. But what is it that feeds the insatiable beast that is the ideology of capitalism?
Through the lens of the last 8 weeks, and the last four years – and my lifetime, it is hard for me not to draw any other conclusion than that the powers that be would rather we were all dead. That way, their own death wish, their illusion, the fallacy of whiteness can continue, unobstructed.
To think that whiteness exists as anything other than a political construct to oppress those who are not white, are either willfully ignorant, or tragically misinformed.
Our institutions which have been built with the explicit and implicit purpose to benefit white people have little to no capacity to value human life, least of which their own. Although they will go to the ends of the earth to convince themselves otherwise. Freedom to them means the freedom to perish in whatever idiotic fashion one chooses. Many of these efforts are interpreted as virtuous by some, but when their pursuit of happiness and this particular brand of freedom requires holding everyone else hostage, it is clear that the ones who seek this freedom are trapped in their lie, just as the ones who perish due to circumstances like poverty, hunger and drug addiction, propped up by this “freedom” are trapped.
The kind of self hatred that requires pillaging the the lands, bodies and identities of people who cannot participate in the the lie of whiteness, can only originate from within. And I do not mean within the meeting halls of some klan meeting in the middle of nowhere, or a board room, or an Ivy League secret society. I mean deep – soul deep. Pitch black ink deep within one’s own very existence. The practitioners are the afflicted. Never the other way around.
If it were the other way around, we wouldn’t have jazz, gospel or the blues. Soul music is a cry for life.
We are dying because of a systematic refusal to evolve beyond a myth that was never true to begin with. And if that isn’t suicide – albeit a torturous protracted one – then the language has changed right before our eyes.
