The freedom of speech app has been told to shut the fuck up.

Over the last forty-eight hours, Apple, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google have cut ties with the ‘free speech’ Twitter alternative, Parler. This, of course, has ruffled many feathers on the far-right as Parler became their home after Twitter began to fact check claims about voter fraud and a number of other topics prone to rampant conspiracy theory mongering. …

In the aftermath of one of the most obscene displays of fascist loyalty in the United States since the 1939 rally at Madison Square Garden, many Trump sycophants are resigning in an insulting attempt of eleventh hour courage. Democratic lawmakers have pushed for removing the President through invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, though Vice President Pence has, in private, dismissed the likelihood of his involvement in that effort. Many congressional leaders are also calling for another impeachment.

If one were to make a superficial reading of the sudden resignations, with twelve days remaining in this current Administration…

Whiffs of fascism and teargas aside, this is what you get when a significant part of the population that has been fed at the teat of cable news networks repeating conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory. This is what you get when you have a major political party that, in the pursuit of power, excuses racism, sexism and all of the other isms that seem to such a degree that they are willing to let hundreds of thousands of people die instead of doing the bare minimum.

This was an utter catastrophe…

First, in the words of YG and the late Nipsey Hussle, “Fuck Donald Trump” and fuck every single thing he stands for. Please believe me when I say that. I mean it from the deepest, darkest most vengeful part of my soul. But isn’t that the point? None of us are immune from it. Trumpism and the dark money that has funded and propagated this four year experiment has dragged us all down to the dregs of ourselves, right along with the man himself.

Donald J. Trump, the forty-fifth President of the United States is in the hospital right now…

White “culture”, if there is such a thing, is one founded upon multigenerational genocidal mania.

Presidential candidate Joe Biden likes to say that the soul of The United States is at stake, as if it is single handedly being held hostage by the current Administration. Shocker: (and the Wal-Mart quality fascism aside), that bet was made long before any of us got here. Even Uncle Joe. The condition we find ourselves in today begs the question: why save a soul as feckless and twisted as the American one? The same soul that allowed slavery to persist for four centuries. And that also allowed the social genocide to continue for a century afterwards.

From our healthcare…

Hello, it is me again. After experiencing a number of re-traumatizing experiences over the last few days — not all related to race, but not limited to: having a number of white people who are close to me wish me Happy Juneteenth as if it was Christmas or something. Also, being back in my home town and seeing Black Lives Matter signs in a place where I saw Trump signs seasons before. Discovering that this Instagram exists. I really hadn’t taken into account how exhausting “Wokeness” actually is. And that’s not to say it is not necessary, but there’s a…

Me at 4 years old.
Me at 4 years old.
Me at four years old shortly before I retired from Wall Street.

to put some things in context, I read the Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley when I was ten or eleven. I made it a point to read the 9/11 commission report front to back when it was published. On September 11th, I was 12 — and the only thing I could think of was: why does America hate Muslims all of a sudden? That is a story for another volume.

I also grew up in a place that, let’s say, was and continues to be less than diverse. I think the non-white population hovered around <4%…

I’ll admit that as I am writing this, I am still very raw. Two incidents, two all too familiar acts of terrorism against black people — on the same day. One fatal, one not — both completely unjustified. I’m not going to rehash the incidents in detail, you can find the incident in Central Park here, and the murder of George Floyd here by the Minneapolis Police Department. …

Whether you were one of the millions of people to watch the Super Bowl reluctantly after a year of passive or active boycott. Or, if football is your religion, there was no doubt that finding out that 21 savage was not, in fact, from Atlanta (or even an American citizen) was the most exciting news on Sunday night. The game was boring, but so was every single thing else.

The only way I had ever heard my Mother make any mention of a sporting event (beyond my peewee basketball days) was during the buildup to the Super Bowl and exactly…

More dutiful minds than I have opined, ad nauseam, about the “battle” over the fact that Trump’s “border wall” isn’t even about a physical wall anymore, which he has (as of a few hours ago) claimed is “mostly….built” and paid for — which is a massive lie. What definition of the wall is or will be, exactly, has remained as mailable as it’s main cheerleader’s ethics. It is both metaphor, and symbol, a political fulcrum, and rhetorical pacifier for his base. And perhaps most aptly, a mythical monument to his inadequacy as a leader…
